The final words have been typed for the first draft of Spark of Humanity. It's a record for me, 61 days, 85,000 words. It's a testament to just how well I find writing sprints work for me.
Next up is a week of rest for the first draft, during which time I'll be ignoring it completely and working on a short story that's an introduction to another novel. Then it'll be straight back for the read-through and the second draft.
If you haven't tried writing sprints, please give them a try. Set a time, and a time limit. Give yourself an hour. Then write. Don't edit, don't stop to check emails or Facebook. Just get the words on the page.
