I've just finished the first draft of Intertwined. It's a standalone novel, nothing to do with the Life Support series at all (although actually they share a common universe in my head).
So, I'm going to leave the novel to rest for two weeks, and then I'll build it as an ebook, and do a read-through to get the sense of the whole story "as a book". There will of course be things to change, things to remove, and some things to add, and the editing process itself is something I struggle with.
In the meantime, I'm going to keep the writing momentum going by going back to another story that I started a while back. I'm also going to be looking at some cover designs for Intertwined. As it's a standalone novel, I'm going to look at physical copies as well as digital for it, so the cover will actually need to be a main cover for the ebook, and a wraparound version for the physical edition.
So there's still loads to do, but I'm very excited to hit the 1st draft milestone. The novel came in at just over 111,000 words, but I expect to whittle that down during editing.
It's been a long road to get the draft done (I put it on hold to finish Spark of Humanity), but I'm very happy with how it's turned out.
